SwitchRPG Turns Four!

Today marks the four-year anniversary of written content on SwitchRPG.com. In previous years, we’ve reflected back on all the achievements and struggles leading up and into the most current year, but I want to do things a bit differently for 2022. The reason for this is simple: we could have very easily not been here to celebrate a fourth year if it weren’t for the love and support of our fanbase, and the fiery passion and drive behind our team.

2020 was a rough year, and 2021 for many – including myself – was even worse. By last September, we had published over 1,800 articles, but the grind of pushing consistent, quality content was beginning to take its toll, on top of some extremely taxing events happening in everyday life. We ultimately decided to shut the site down September 17th, and had no plans of looking back.

But…

On November 4th, we did look back. We missed the community, and we missed talking about our favorite genre on the hybrid console we’ve all grown to love. So, we decided to make a return with a caveat: not losing sight of keeping this a passion project instead of letting it evolve into a chore. Because of that, we’ve now reached the 2,000 article milestone and have no intentions of stopping again.

We could have ended up not being here to celebrate year four – but against all odds, we are. And I have the SwitchRPG staff, community, and many visitors to thank for that.

Here’s to another four years, and hopefully with a “Switch Pro”!
