Embark on a vast new role-playing adventure as one of eight travelers, all with their own origins, paths, and goals.

The producers of the Bravely series at Square Enix have brought a new world to life through a mix of CG, pixel art, and "HD-2D" visuals. Embark on a vast new role-playing adventure as one of eight travelers, all with their own origins, paths, and goals. Where to begin? Who to team up with? Where to go next? Only you can decide.

Each traveler can use a distinct Path Action, a specialized way of achieving objectives and interacting with people you encounter. The warrior can "challenge" people to a duel, whereas the dancer can "allure" others to follow her, even into battle! Enjoy the freedom to choose your own path while experiencing the story through the role you play. Combat revolves around the Boost system, a fusion of traditional turn-based battling and modern enhancements. Each turn, build up BP that can be spent to dramatically increase your strength or provide aid. Identifying when to Boost may just be the key to victory.

At first I wasn't that into the game, the art style looked real weird to me and it didn't seem like anything special from the concept.. but the art style really started to grow on me as I saw more of it, and I just finished the demo. Dear God I need this thing asap. Probably gonna get that Wayfarer's edition as well, I need that pop up book display

Every time I see a new gameplay video or screenshot, I get more excited for this game. I loved the demo and the developers took the feedback that players of the demo provided through a survey and improved the gameplay accordingly, which I appreciate greatly and makes this a Day 1 purchase for me

Played all of Olberic, but only the first half hour of Primrose (in case I need to redo those in the full game). Can't get enough of it; the battle system could have been designed for my tastes. I've got Bravely Default arriving tomorrow for the 3DS, which will hopefully help me wait a bit longer for Octopath.

I played both routes for both the characters, I need more.
The art-style and the plot in the demo are so good!

I need this as bad as I need a new DQ or even a remake on my switch. Pls tell us already when it is releasing!! Also I hope for a worldwide release, and not having to wait 9 months for localization like with Dragon Quest.

Found out about this game thanks to this site. I am going to go download the demo tonight if it is still available. It looks like playing FFVI but with 3D environments; looks like a dream, in other words. The special actions the characters can take outside of battle sound like a brilliant addition (finally no more pansy guards stopping your overpowered character from walking through the door you want to walk through). Will be keeping an eye on this one.

Played the demo, wants more.
One thing I enjoyed about this game is how grounded (so far) the stories are. That makes the characters more relatable. Also this game looks freaking beautiful.
Day 1 purchase for me.

I bet a Q3 release, like september or october. In summer we have already Ys VIII. So i think Octopath should be the next one.

@Meduchan, If it's going to release this year (which is what all the reports are), then we should get an announcement in the next couple months! We should be close! Hang in there. :D

In a recent update the team behind Octopath Traveler release a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohd4Mz-sr18) about how much the result of the survey changed the game... in better ways, imo.
They are doing a wonderful job, and this game probably will be the next masterpiece RPG on the Switch.

I completed the demo for this one. It was a surprising amount of content and replay-ability for being just a demo. Great setting, music, graphics and gameplay. I'd say this is the game I look forward to the most this year (so far) for the Switch. It has some definite FFVI vibes going on too.
