Game Description

A new Mario Tennis game is bringing a new level of skill and competition to Nintendo Switch. Mario steps onto the court in classy tennis garb for intense rallies against a variety of characters in full-blown tennis battles. New wrinkles in tennis gameplay will challenge your ability to read an opponent's position and stroke to determine which shot will give you the advantage. And this time the game adds the first story mode since the Mario Tennis game on Game Boy Advance, offering a new flavor of tennis gameplay, with a variety of missions, boss battles and more.

‘Mario Tennis Aces’ – Hitting the Sweet Spot with a Good Serve via Goomba Stomp

This is one of the best installments in the Mario Tennis series if only for the amount of content it offers. It doesn’t get everything right but regardless, it makes a great addition to the Switch library.

Mario Tennis Aces review - Tactically tense tennis with the soul of a fighting game via Critical Hit

Mario Tennis Aces gives the arcade tennis series a massive injection of depth, turning this family friendly sports title into a tactical, fast-paced chess game that is a thrill to play against other people. Its depth is well explained in a limited story mode that has some interesting ideas, but it's a tougher sell if you're not looking to lose yourself in hours and hours of online play.

Mario Tennis Aces Review: Causing a Racket – GameSpew via GameSpew

The challenges on offer are difficult but fun, and they'll keep you going back until you master them. You can't really expect any more than that.

Smashing Aces via viewport

Mario Tennis Aces is a great return for the racket-wielding plumber and friends. If you are looking for purely a single player experience, hold back on this game for now as you won't find much. For those with friends or a competitive spirit, this is one tennis game that you don't want to miss out on.

Mario Tennis Aces: Official GBAtemp Review via GBAtemp

I feel Mario Tennis Aces is a leap in the right direction for Camelot. With incredibly fun additions to the series, as well as a natural means of learning and reinforcing their use, you have an intense online experience with the training needed for you to be comfortable playing against others. If you can get past the short adventure mode and enjoy playing with people around the world, you will find yourself here a wonderfully refined tennis experience that pulls out all the stops to feel fluid and look divine.

My brothers and I loved the original MARIO Tennis on N64, and put a decent amount of time into the GCN title. Unfortunately, I am as concerned as many others that the lack of match customization options could kill the experience for the new game.

Have never played a Mario sports game so I'm going to make this my first!

I've already bought my sweat bands. If this game is anything like the GBA version, it will be a hit!

Fingers crossed the story mode is fully fledged out. After Golf Story, I may be spoiled.

Finger's crossed that they plan on having heavy RPG elements in the game.

This game is tracked based on info that it has RPG-like gameplay. Once we know more it may or may not remain on SwitchRPG.
