Game Description

The ultimate pen and paper RPG simulation experience

Set out on a grand adventure in this turn-based, retro style, pixel-art RPG, inspired by the great titles of the 90's. Take on the roles of in-game players taking on the roles of their characters in a traditional pen and paper RPG session in the ultimate meta roleplaying experience.

As both the playing characters AND the game master, players can choose which battles to fight. Put together a bunch of monsters to make for a challenging fight and your efforts will be equally rewarded!

Choose from multiple classes, such as knights and mages, pick your characters to control those classes, like grandma or kid brother, and take on the loads of quests, monsters, items and equipment littered throughout Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Deluxier Edition. Blacksmiths, enchanters, mining, gathering, hidden treasures and a whole lot more await, giving players a lot of room to personalize their gameplay experience.

Don’t wait any longer, the Pen & Paper world needs you!

Review: Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Deluxier Edition (Switch) via Nintendojo

Overall, Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Deluxier Edition is a quality addition to the ever-growing Switch library, and really exemplifies what makes the eShop so awesome.

Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Deluxier Edition (Switch) Review via NintendoWorldReport

The quests and battle were fairly standard, the majority of my enjoyment came from the onslaught of ‘80s and ‘90s culture that blended perfectly within the game. From the ability to hire Master Splinter as the dungeon master, to purchasing Johnny 6 as a pet, there's plenty to keep a smile on your face. While some of the humor went over my head, there's enough chemistry to keep you entertained regardless of the amount of Dungeons and Dragons experience you have.

Knights of Pen and Paper is a funny adventure through a classic fantasy map, imbued with nostalgia and humour in equal measure.

I just picked this up over the weekend, and am really enjoying it so far. It is an interesting perspective on some tried and true mechanics that really make for an enjoyable experience. Expect a SwitchRPG review of it in the near future.

Played the original on Steam, overall pretty fun game. Writing is probably the best thing the game has going for it
