I’ve been in somewhat of a rut these past few weeks waiting on the highly anticipated Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition to release. Now that it is here, along with a metric ton of other meaty releases, it is all I’ve been playing and all I intend to play this weekend.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
I’m the furthest from a Xenoblade fanboy – at least that was the case prior to playing this game. While XC2 didn’t totally “wow” me, its predecessor in this new packaging has more than squashed my strong skepticism surrounding this entry. Though the combat is certainly less technical here, it feels far better paced as a result without sacrificing positional and some setup mechanics found in both entries. For me, less is more. The combat was my biggest concern going into this entry, and I’m happy to report that it has not been a disappointment whatsoever. Nothing else sticks out like a sore thumb, either – the world design and ambiance are stellar, and I feel far more attached to the plot and characters than I ever did in XC2. In short, all things are looking up at the moment, and I can’t wait to share my complete thoughts in a review in the near future.
That’s it for me this weekend! What are YOU going to play?
