Weekend Gaming Playlist

Greetings, readers! Many of us have been stuck inside for a while now, myself included, and as a result I’ve found myself immersing into big, beautiful worlds lately. I’m exploring more than just the games below at this time, but these are the ones that I’m putting the majority of my free time into when not working. Luckily, there are a ton of games that I adore that allow for online multiplayer, so my social starvation is somewhat mitigated during this difficult time.

Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl GOLD

After clearing the main story in Snack World, the wonderful post-game has opened up, offering a plethora of challenging quests, each with new monsters to fight and new rare items to chase after. While my ranks increase and my armor cache grows larger, I’m still finding more and more to love about Snack World. With a robust online experience, I can still hang out with my friends and skewer some monsters, even if that means doing it from across town instead of all hanging out in the same living room. I’m absolutely loving this for its social aspect right now, and definitely still up for helping out new people if newcomers want to join up.

Rune Factory 4 Special

Before this title, I had never played a Rune Factory game before! I was intrigued by all the great things being said about this port by our staff and readers, and have not regretted getting my toes wet. So far, I’m in the second story arc right now, and the story is super intriguing, and I think I’m gonna marry the cute dwarf guy, even if he is a little mean. Rice balls seem to calm him down, so maybe I can find a way to his heart after all? After putting hundreds of hours into Stardew Valley, and countless files in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, this game hits my heart in a way that I can’t even explain. I’m in love, and I’m not just talking about with Doug.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Okay, so not exactly an RPG, but I know that a vast majority are hooked by Animal Crossing at the moment. This entry has been incredibly fun so far, and with an array of customization options for my island, I’ve been successfully putting together my own little slice of paradise. I’ve lured one of my favorite villagers (Rolf, the white tiger) to my island via the Amiibo cards, and I’ve gotten K.K. Slider to agree to come to my island to perform. There’s still so much to do, though, and even with those main introductory tasks completed, I’m not off the hook just yet. Bugs, fish, and fossils are out there waiting to be collected, and my house is still way too small for comfort.

Aside from assignments, that’s it for me this weekend. While I might throw down some Smash with my other half, I don’t think I’ll be able to pry myself from the grasp of these great game worlds any time soon. Feel free to @ me on our Discord should you need assistance with Snack World or Animal Crossing! I’m always down to hand out care packages of fruit, and bash in the skulls of unsuspecting monsters in dungeons. Stay safe, everyone! Wash your paws!
