Weekend Gaming Playlist

Hello and a heartfelt Happy Valentine’s Day to all of the awesome RPG loving ladies out there! We’ve had quite the week in the gaming community and there is a lot to be excited about. This week featured a brand new Nintendo Direct that gave us many things to look forward to, and even a legendary RPG that we could dive into immediately! So, here is what I’ll be playing this weekend.

Final Fantasy IX

Thursday’s Nintendo Direct hit us with a very welcome surprise in the form of this iconic hit from Square Enix. We expected Final Fantasy VII to perhaps become available first, but it was instead revealed to have a March 26th release date. FFIX is easily my favorite in the series, and I couldn’t be more eager to see Zidane, ViVi, Kuja and Garnet on my Switch!

Warframe

A rather large update was just added to Warframe, and the general consensus is that it’s a blast. I already have several hours into the game and it’s a technological marvel that this game performs so well on the Switch. If you’ve been on the fence about downloading Warframe, well…you have nothing to lose (with the exception of storage), as the game is a FREE download. Check back soon to see our in depth review of Warframe in the coming days!

Kingdom Hearts 3

No, Kingdom Hearts 3 is not available on the Switch unfortunately, but Square Enix did hint at the possibility of a port in an interview earlier this week. The iconic Square Enix / Disney hybrid is back after over a decade and it’s better than ever. Action packed combat, gorgeous visuals, epic soundtrack and one heck of a convoluted, yet addictive story.

That’s it for me, friends! What did you think of this week’s Nintendo Direct? Are you as excited as we are for Final Fantasy on the Switch? If so, be sure to check out our Final Fantasy VII Challenge. What else will you be playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments! Thanks for visiting SwitchRPG!

Stoked about all the Final Fantasy we’re getting this year! I might be playing some FFIX myself, as well as some Doom & Destiny.
