Weekend Gaming Playlist
The holiday festivities have come and gone, and folks are undoubtedly splurging their excess funds on all sorts of goods, including games! The Nintendo Switch has had some crazy sales in the past couple weeks, and I’ve snagged a few titles myself. As far as this weekend goes, I’ll be playing a collection of older titles from the Switch RPG library that are still new to me:
The Alliance Alive HD Remastered

This SaGa-like RPG has stolen both my time and my heart these past few weeks. Though my time with it is quickly approaching an end, its impact will remain for years to come. Not only does it have an a compelling narrative filled with interesting characters, the visuals are excellent, and the gameplay is top notch. If you’ve been intimidated – or even turned off – by SaGa games in the past, consider this a tale of redemption worth your time.
Gleaner Heights

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love Stardew Valley? Now, imagine if Stardew Valley hid horrific secrets- this is essentially the premise of Gleaner Heights, a farming/life simulator that centers around a village that is said to be home of unspeakable atrocities. Will it live up to the hype? Who knows, but I’m looking forward to finding out either way.
Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD

I haven’t been shy about bah-humbugging recent Final Fantasy games from my nostalgic lawn, but I’m not above trying them either. While the full-on console version of the 15th mainline entry did not capture my heart when I played it a few years ago, this streamlined version may be better suited for the kind of experience I want to have with it today. I’ll be sure to report back my findings in the coming weeks.
That’s it for me this weekend! What are you going to play? Feel free to let us know in the comments below.
