Weekend Gaming Playlist (7-8-22)

We’re back with another weekend playlist! This one in particular is a noteworthy milestone, as I’ve finally settled in on a new(ish) Switch RPG rather than continuing to plug away at a certain procedurally-generated labyrinth from 2018. Not that I was complaining though and, well, I’m technically still diving into labyrinths, but at least this one is a bit different…

Dungeon Encounters

I’ve had my eye on this peculiar dungeon crawler by Square Enix for some time now, and I finally pulled the trigger late last weekend. So far, I’m impressed with just how unique the experience has been – easily one of the most unique adventures the company has crafted in years. The minimalistic approach to dungeon crawler is interesting, but it’s certainly not going to be for everyone. Be on the lookout for some detailed impressions of Dungeon Encounters very soon.

Chrono Trigger

Now a staple in my weekend playlists, I’m still chipping away at my SNES Chrono Trigger playthrough and “Let’s Play.” I’m roughly halfway through at this point and I continue to be reminded by just how great this game really was – and still is – though there are arguments to be made for some QoL features should we ever see a modernized release of the iconic JRPG.

That’s it for me this weekend! What are YOU going to play?
