Weekend Gaming Playlist (5-27-22)

For those of you in the States, or those around the globe that honor and recognize Memorial Day, enjoy! It also unofficially means that summer is here! I’ll be spending a good time outside by the pool and barbecuing, but I’m going to try and find some downtime to enjoy some games as well. This is what I’ll be playing.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

I am not very familiar with the Monster Hunter games. I played a little bit of World when it was part of Game Pass but fell off. Monster Hunter Stories is a more traditional turn-based RPG and after about 15 hours, I am really enjoying it…even if it is a bit on the simple side. It uses a rock, paper, scissors system for the combat so while it’s not the most in-depth or complicated system, I am still really enjoying taking down big monsters. I do hope Capcom eventually decides to port the first Stories game to Switch and greenlights a third entry to be made.

God of War (2018)

With all the talk about if we will see a new trailer and get a release date for God of War Ragnarok, I figured there’s no better time than to start God of War (2018). I always enjoyed the series back on the PS2/PS3 and maybe I’ll check out the remaster version of those games, but right now I am enjoying this entry. So far, this game is living up to all my expectations. Solid storytelling and combat are what you’ve come to expect from Santa Monica studio.

Picross S2

Still on here from my lask weekend playlist – but I am 1/2 down with the last set of puzzles – is Mega Picross. I recently finished up Clip Picross so hopefully I will have this one finished up soon and can move on to the Sega Picross crossover.

Upcoming Mysterious Switch Game
