Weekend Gaming Playlist
Hello, and welcome back to another Weekend Gaming Playlist! Summer is finally here, but it has felt like Summer for what seems like ages already (at least here in the south). As a result, the “honey dos” and general outdoor objectives are starting to pile up, but I’ll be cooling off with the following games as I am able:
Final Fantasy Adventure (Collection of Mana)

Easily the most jarring game that I played as a child, the first entry into the legendary Mana series, Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden – or Final Fantasy Adventure in the States – has consumed my free time for the past week. This game threw me for a loop as a kid because it was nothing like the Final Fantasy games I had played up to that point, and for obvious reasons since it wasn’t a Final Fantasy game at all. Either way, I’m enjoying my current playthrough immensely, and hoping to roll the credits on it very soon.
Secret of Mana (Collection of Mana)

I’ll be diving into this as soon as I complete Final Fantasy Adventure, and I’m really curious how this one will turn out. There’s so much love for this game, yet I feel like the whole weapon charging and magic level systems have aged very poorly, at least that was my takeaway after playing the remake a couple years back. Time will tell whether this classic ARPG is still worth playing today.
SWORD ART ONLINE: Hollow Realization Deluxe Edition

I’ve had this game for quite a while now, but have yet to give it a fair shake. My initial impressions weren’t overwhelmingly positive, which is why I shelved the game in favor of newer releases for some time now. That said, I still want to go back and see if things improve from those initial impressions.
That’s it for me – I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. What will YOU be playing this weekend?
