Weekend Gaming Playlist (4-8-22)
The glorious weekend is upon us once more. While I have quite a few things on the docket unrelated to gaming, I most definitely will be filling any spare time I have with just that! Here’s what I’ll be playing this weekend:
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition
I, for some reason, never got around to playing Chrono Cross back in the day, even though I was a PS1 RPG fanatic. Regardless, I’m only a couple hours in at this point and I’ve found the experience to certainly be interesting. While I don’t imagine it resonating with me as much as Chrono Trigger did, I’m nonetheless excited to see where things go from here.
SaGa 2 Hihō Densetsu: Goddess of Destiny
Having just wrapped up my Let’s Play of Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster for my secondary channel, I’ve decided to jump both overseas and back in time to the DS remake of Final Fantasy Legend II – one of my favorite games of all time. While this was never officially localized, fans released an English patch years ago that allows players to fully experience this Gameboy classic in a totally new light. I’ve dabbled in this DS remake off and on over the years, but I’m determined to see it through to completion this time around.
Square Enix’s latest strategy RPG in everyone’s favorite graphical style, HD-2D, is the last on my list for this weekend. While I’ve enjoyed my 20 hours played so far, the repeating of static mock battles to bring the entire roster up to the same level has begun to wear thin. I really think Triangle Strategy could benefit from a randomized mock battle to help keep the grind fresh, but that’s just my opinion. Either way, I’m looking forward to rolling the credits at least once here, whenever that does happen.
That’s it for me this weekend! What are YOU going to play?
