Weekend Gaming Playlist
It’s that time again: time to get hyped for the weekend and (hopefully) some gaming time along with it. The impending holidays and the preparations they require have thrown a wrench in my typical window of play, but I still plan on diving into some things as I have time. Here is what I plan on getting into, but be sure to share your plans as well!
SwitchRPG is no stranger to KEMCO RPGs, and Chronus Arc will be the latest of many Switch releases from the publisher this year. If you really look at the screenshot though, you will notice that it doesn’t look quite like your typical KEMCO RPG. In the development seat this time is Hit-Point Inc. instead of the usual EXE Create, so I am very curious about how this one will shape up. Expect a review sometime next week for Chronus Arc, which releases December 20th.
I’m the furthest from a roguelike/lite connoisseur, but for some reason this little game caught my attention. It is a 2D roguelite platformer with a sci-fi aesthetic that is totally up my alley. While my evaluation of such a game will be most suited for less than diehard fans of the subgenre, expect a full review next week. Xenon Valkyrie+ releases on Switch January 1, 2019.
Landstalker (SEGA Genesis Classics)
I’m totally kicking it old school with some SEGA Genesis classics this weekend. There are a ton of RPGs available to play on it, but the first one I’ll be tackling is Landstalker. This is a truly unique RPG that plays a lot like a Zelda game in an isometric perspective. I’ll most likely be writing up something for the site about it, so be sure on the lookout for that in the coming weeks.
Have a great weekend everyone!
