Weekend Gaming Playlist
I don’t typically write articles, but I figured I’d give it a shot by telling you fine folks about what I’m going to be playing this weekend. With the way things are in my life right now, I need games where I can pick up, play, and put it down at any moment’s notice. Each of the games listed below encompass that idea.
Pokemon Let’s Go: Pikachu
With Christmas around the corner and my 5-year-old son’s interest piquing into the world of Pokemon, my wife and I decided to get him Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu as a gift from Santa. Being the responsible parent I am, fueled by the influence of others, I decided to open his gift a little early, just to make sure that it properly works.
I’d hate for my son to wake up Christmas morning, open all his gifts, attempt to play the game, and then be overcome with disappointment when the cartridge doesn’t work. Do you have any idea how that could reflect on me? I would never hear the end of it and it could be decades before he would forgive me. So I’ll be “testing” Pokemon Let’s Go in secret, making sure that everything plays as smoothly as it should. Gotta catch em all!
Diablo III: Eternal Collection
Diablo 3 has been a staple in my playlist since its release in early November. Being able to pick up the Switch and run through a few Rifts, clear some Bounties, and then resume my life as a father of two has definitely been one of the best aspects of Diablo III coming to the Switch. So, you’ll likely find me trying to complete my Tal Rasha’s set for my wizard this weekend.
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden
I have absolutely fallen in love with this game. The characters are extremely engaging and the environment is eerily beautiful. This stealth tactical turn-based strategy RPG hits all the buttons for me, and yes, it is all those subgenres in one neat package. I’m hoping to settle in and properly plan more attacks in this post-apocalyptic world in the coming days.
What are you playing this weekend?
