Weekend Gaming Playlist
I don’t know about you, but this week was the first full week “back to the grind” for me after the holiday festivities. The eggnog and festive food-induced stupor has just barely worn off, which made for an interesting week to say the least. I’ve never been more happy to see the weekend, especially with some of the games that have released recently. Here is what I plan to jump into this weekend, but be sure to let us know what your plans are as well!
DragonFangZ – The Rose & Dungeon of Time

DragonFangZ is something that I’ve been tempted to buy for months, and I finally pulled the trigger about a week ago. Although I’ve already written a review , there’s still much I want to do in the game. DragonFangZ genuinely surprised me by how much fun it was, and you wouldn’t necessarily gather that from its appearance alone. It is a nice little roguelike with deeper RPG mechanics than most games in its genre, and is a good investment especially if you can grab it on sale.
Dust: An Elysian Tale

Another game that I let fall to the wayside for far too long, Dust: An Elysian Tale is such a wonderful experience. One of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played, and the gameplay is just as solid. It isn’t completely free of defects, but for a budget-level game it’s dang near perfect. Be on the lookout for a review of this Metroidvania RPG in the near future.
Tales of Vesperia

Perhaps the most anticipated non-expansion traditional RPG release since Octopath Traveler, Tales of Vesperia will be my first gaming priority this weekend. My only experience with the long-running Tales series has been Phantasia and Berseria, both of which were ages ago and I never finished either one. However, I’ve always appreciated its more unique approach to combat especially, so I’m really looking forward to sinking my teeth into this one over the weekend. Expect a review of it in the coming weeks.
That’s it for me! What about you?
