Weekend Gaming Playlist

Congratulations! We’ve made it through our first week with Octopath Traveler. Whether you’ve been playing along with the rest of us, or just listening in to all the conversation, it’s truly been a great week to be an RPG fan. As we head into the weekend, let’s take a moment to talk about what we’ll be playing over the next few days.

Octopath Traveler

I, like most of you, have put probably too much time into Octopath Traveler this week (losing quite a bit of sleep along the way). While my weekend gaming time is usually pretty limited, I will continue to chug away at my playthrough of this delightful JRPG. I’m currently waltzing my way through the chapter 2 stories, and just this morning I finished collecting all my subjobs. I’ve got a weekend full of narration and experimentation ahead of me.

Pokemon Quest

This little title dropped on Switch and smartphones this summer, and has been my on-again/off-again companion over the past few weeks. I’m finding the game to be just engaging enough to hold my interest. The simple battles hold enough challenge to keep me from hitting the autobattle feature every time, and I’m enjoying taking yet another romp through the Generation 1 collectathon. If anything bad can be said about the game, it’s that leveling up low-level Pokemon you like can be a bit of grind – a little more than I’d like from a title I only spend 5-10 minutes with per session.

That’s all I’ve got in store for me this weekend. Let us know how you’ll be spending your weekend gaming hours in the comments!
