Weekend Gaming Playlist
Fall is in full swing, and so is the holiday gaming season! This week is a particularly good one for Switch RPG fans – a beloved Bioware game makes its debut, and the long awaited next installment in the SMT series finally debuts. Here is a sample of what I will be playing this weekend.
STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic™

KOTOR is a Bioware classic, and one of my personal favorites from them outside of the Mass Effect series. It’s still a bummer we didn’t get the Mass Effect games on Switch, but this is a fine addition to the Switch library. While the game originally released in 2003, it still holds up pretty well almost 20 years later. I am only a few hours into my re-play of the game and while some modern QoL improvements would have been welcomed, it is still a fantastic game. For a change, this time around I’m doing a Light side playthrough.
The Legend of Zelda™: Skyward Sword HD

I know I have mentioned this game many times before on my weekend playlists, but other games kept releasing and getting in its way! I have finally committed more time to it and have finally made it to the Sandship. This area has been a blast to get through – it’s really well paced. Both the environments and puzzles are well done and fun to traverse. I know SSHD has received a lot of criticism, but overall I have really been enjoying my time with it. In my opinion, so far, it has the best story and some of the best dungeons the series has to offer.
Shin Megami Tensei V

I played my first Persona game, Persona 5 Strikers, earlier this year and now I get to experience my first SMT game. One of the best things about the Switch is its ever-growing library that allows for a wide array of gaming experiences. I do have SMT 3 also, but it’s in my backlog and I have heard mixed things about it. Early impressions and reviews for SMT V have been great, so I’m looking forward to jumping into the series here, even if I play it on easy mode!
That’s it for me this weekend! What are you going to play? Let us know in the comments below, or over on Twitter. Enjoy your time playing, stay safe, and be well!
