Weekend Gaming Playlist

This summer has been a whirlwind of game releases and I am currently drowning in several titles that I want to get through. I’d like to think that my gaming load will lighten up the next few weeks, but if we’re being honest, that’s probably not going to be the case. In the meantime, there are a few games that I’m playing through now that have me completely hooked.

Monster Hunter Stories 2

Truthfully, I have no clue how far I am into this game so far (in terms of finishing the main story), but it sure has been fulfilling. While I’ve only been playing it in short bursts, those bursts have been a blast. The satisfaction that I get from defeating my bosses as I get better at predicting enemy movements is great. What isn’t so great is watching my side quest log slowly grow larger and larger as I take on more tasks, but do nothing to actually complete them. Keep an eye out for my review of Monster Hunter Stories 2 in the coming weeks.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

Outside of Disgaea 6, The Great Ace Attorney was one of my most anticipated games of this year. And oh my goodness, this game is everything I wanted and more. I am currently in the middle of the fourth case of the first game in the collection and truthfully, this may honestly end up as my game of the year. I am so glad that this game was finally brought over, because everything from the characters, the cases, and the new gameplay features are great. I really hope that with this release (and the fact that this is the first physical release in the West of an Ace Attorney game since Apollo Justice on the DS) shows Capcom that Western support for this series is there.

And those are the games that I’m playing this weekend. What games have caught your attention? Let us know in the comments or over on Twitter!

I’m absolutely obsessed with Monster Hunter Stories 2! It’s such a beautiful game and the world is so immersive to me. I do think the side quest log can be kinda annoying though. I almost wish the quests would leave once I completed them, because repeatedly completing the same side quest feels a bit odd at times.
