Weekend Gaming Playlist (12-9-21)

The holiday season is well upon us now and truthfully, stress has been very high. So with the weekend coming in, it’s nice to be able to sit back and relax with a few games. And as much as it would be nice to clean up my backlog, I fear that I won’t have much luck with that. So, maybe I can make a dent in some of the games listed below?

Death’s Door

When I first heard about the praise coming from this game, I was already curious. The clay-like styling of the world and the intense splash art for the game made me excited to try it out. And while I was surprised to find it was more Zelda-like than rogue, I find that to be a blessing in disguise. Given my attack first, think later habit with gaming, I have been dying…a lot. But, there’s something about the game that makes me want to keep trying. This may be a long haul game where I just have to chip away at it over time, but that’s perfectly fine with me.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond

Like some of the other members of the team, I have also boarded the Pokemon train. While Hoenn is my favorite region, the Sinnoh region has my favorite Pokemon game to play (Platinum). I didn’t keep up with the trailers that they released for the game outside of the initial trailer, so I wasn’t sure just how much would have been added to the games to separate them from their DS counterparts. So, I was a bit surprised when I found that the games were 1-to-1 remakes (at least, where I am so far). Of course though, that just means a front row seat down memory lane.

Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle

I have already written a Libra for this game and unfortunately, it kind of fell by the wayside with all of the new releases. So, I’m back on the grind and slowly working my way through this title. If there is one thing I can say about it since writing my Libra, it’s that this game sure does know how to bring out my emotions. It’s frustrating to watch how people treat Marona. We all know that she’s a sweet girl, and yet people treat her like she’s some evil being because of her powers.

And those are the games that I’ll be playing this weekend. What games are on your docket for the weekend?
