Weekend Gaming Playlist (12-17-21)

This is it, folks! One week before the holiday season reaches its peak. For many, this means taking care of last-minute shopping and getting that immortal fruitcake ready for another regifting. But if you’re like me and already have those things squared away, then it could be a grand weekend for some solid gaming time. Here’s what I’ll be playing this weekend:

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea

The Dusk trilogy released on Switch last year, and I did not hesitate to cover it. But for some reason, this particular entry fell through the cracks and even though I put close to 30 hours into it at the time, I never reviewed it. That said, I’m about 25 hours into my second (technically third) playthrough and will be correcting the error of my ways (with a review) very soon.

Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade

Seemingly out of nowhere, the highly-anticipated remake of the 1997 classic, Final Fantasy VII, finally came to PC and hit the shelves at Epic Games yesterday. While I’m hesitant to believe that this completely new adaptation of the iconic turn-based RPG will resonate deeper with me than the original once did, I can’t wait to find out. If anything, I feel that I will at least enjoy it more than Final Fantasy XV (that bar isn’t too high – sorry FFXV fans).

That’s it for me this weekend! What are YOU going to play?
