Weekend Gaming Playlist (10-7-22)

Happy weekend everyone! With autumn now in full swing, I can finally hang up many of the yard responsibilities that ruled with an iron fist during spring and summer. That means more time for games! Here’s what I’ll be playing this weekend:

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

The latest in the Xenoblade franchise has been a wonderful experience. And despite putting in almost 70 hours at this point, there’s still much, much more that I have yet to experience. Alas, my journey will soon come to an end as I now make a beeline towards the final moments, so that I can free up some bandwidth for other games needing attention. As it stands, I should be rolling the credits sometime this weekend, though if I had unlimited freetime, I’d most definitely be exploring every nook and cranny this game has to offer. Easily one of the best Switch RPGs of 2022.

The Sealed Ampoule

With XC3 out of the way, I can once again chip away at the backlog – at least until the onslaught of new games coming this month, November, and December. Sheesh. First up will be a peculiar game that caught my eye earlier in the year. I don’t really know much about The Sealed Ampoule other than it being a roguelike with an…interesting art style and seemingly unique mechanics, including “dungeon agriculturalization.” Whatever that means. Will it be terrible or turn out to be a hidden gem? Only time will tell.

Death end re;Quest

I picked up both Death end re;Quest games on Switch for a steal several months back. While I really only wanted to play the sequel since we’re missing coverage for it on the site, I instead opted for due diligence by first completing the first game. Kierra wasn’t the biggest fan of it when she reviewed it last year, but I’m hoping that it resonates with me a bit more.

That’s it for me this weekend! What are YOU going to play?
