Weekend Gaming Playlist (10-21-22)
Happy Friday! Today I’m more excited about weekend gaming than I have been in a long time, and I’m sure you can guess why. Here’s what I’m playing:
Persona 5 Royal

I haven’t played a Persona game since Revelations: Persona almost 25 years ago. But it’s not because I haven’t wanted to, but rather that I knew the series demands a ton of playtime and I’ve just wanted to play them on the go. And now that some of the titles are popping up on the Nintendo Switch, there’s no better time to dive in!
It’s ironic that a game as massive as Persona 5 Royal is going to serve as the “starter RPG” for the absolutely disgusting slew of RPGs we have coming to Switch in the next few months. I mean seriously, look at the timeline for yourself. Regardless, it may take me ages to beat this one, but I’m looking forward to weaving it into other priorities and responsibilities over the next few weeks, maybe even months.
NieR:Automata

This is another highly-acclaimed series that I never played until recently, but now I can see why so many people have showered it with praise over the years. The dystopian world is hauntingly beautiful, the narrative is interesting, and the music is definitely among the best in the business. I take issue with quite a few of its design choices, however, but I’ll be sharing all of that and my general thoughts so far in an impressions piece next week.
That’s it for me this weekend! What are YOU going to play?
