Weekend Gaming Playlist (1-21-22)

In the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with illness running through my house requiring my attention to be elsewhere other than playing video games. Now that most of the house is recovered and I’m not so exhausted, I hope to get back to gaming this weekend.

Eastward

I’ve been plodding along Eastward for a little bit longer than I’d like to. The issue with me regarding Eastward is that my play time is limited to when I can record gameplay for the SwitchRPG YouTube channel. As I’ve said before, I’ve been super exhausted and unfortunately sleep has taken priority. Back to Eastward. While the art design and soundtrack hasn’t outstayed its welcome. I’m having a bit of an issue with some of the game design.

Not being able to fast travel to previously explored areas as the game progresses seems like a big miss for me. A lot of thought went into designing the world and I want to revisit it. Another issue I have is the loss of focus on the narrative. I don’t want to be too spoilery but some of the questing seems like mundane tasks rather than story building. According to HowLongBeat.com, I’m over halfway through Eastward and I intend on completing it, though.

Shin Megami Tensei V

Shin Megami Tensei V has taken a backseat for the same reasons explained earlier, but I’ll likely be getting back into high gear with it this weekend. I am so close to the finish line that I can see it. Before I do that though, I really want to try to min/max my main character. I really want to get my Nahobino at its max potential.

Whatever My Kids Are Playing

Not sure what’s happened but my two kids are really into Nintendo Switch RPGs (this is totally not my doing). It’s been so awesome seeing them grow into these types of games and it’s been even more awesome that they want me to be part of it. My daughter (6) has been really into BotW so that means I’ve been handling all the divine beasts, getting the Master Sword, and destroying Ganon while she rides around on every single one of her horses battling Bokoblins. My son (8) has been legit playing a ton of Pokemon Let’s Go and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond in preparation for Pokemon Legends: Arceus. While he and I aren’t really able to play together, it doesn’t stop him from asking me for advice during battles or needing some direction.

Super Secret Game

That’s it for me this weekend! What are YOU going to play?
