Welcome back to another This Week In SwitchRPG History! The Final Fantasy Spinoff We Need

There is one game in the Final Fantasy franchise, however, that I believe merits a true spinoff. By true, I mean one that actually does its source material justice. That game would be none other than Final Fantasy Tactics. Now you might be thinking, hey, there are at least three games in the Tactics sub-series, and you are right. But the Gameboy Advance and DS titles are not actually sequels to the original Playstation game despite taking place in the same universe. My heart’s desire is for a genuine, true spinoff of Final Fantasy Tactics to be created, and here is why I think it deserves such recognition. Read more…

Why I’m Excited For Pokemon Let’s Go!

It was 1998: an era filled with strange fads like Furbies, Tamagotchis, and Beanie Babies. In comes Pokemon, which was an even weirder concept to my adolescent 6th grade brain. I first heard about Pokemon through my friend at school, who swore it was the best thing since sliced bread. If I had gone off my friend’s description alone, I would have never played it because he made it sound dumb. Read more…
