Community Member Spotlight: Captain Vulgar

We are back again with another Community Member Spotlight! This time we would like to feature Captain Vulgar. Below are the responses to the questions we asked him for this.

Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m just a guy who enjoys video games and being nice.

When did you become a part of the Switch RPG community?

I’m actually not too sure about that. I remember seeing a tweet about wishing Monster Hunter Generations was on the Switch and I joined shortly after. So quite a bit ago I guess.

How did you find SwitchRPG.com?

I actually found it through Reddit. I stumbled upon a post for it when browsing the new submissions tab.

How old were you when you first got into gaming and what got you into it?

I was around 5 or 6, and my aunt had lent me her Playstation 1. Only game for it was Spyro and I remember spending a lot of time just goofing around in the game. (Super pumped for the remake)

What is your favorite RPG sub-genre?

I’m going to say tactical, since my favorite series is Fire Emblem. Action is a close second.

What are your favorite RPGs?

My favorite RPGs are Fire Emblem, Persona, Fallout, Tales, Dragon Quest, and Elder Scrolls.

What RPG’s on the Switch are you actively playing?

Currently, just Skyrim. Suddenly I felt like spending a ton more hours in there. Recently it was Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs though.

What is your favorite thing about the Switch RPG community?

I love how welcoming and open folks are to discussions. There’s a good variety of views and preferences so it never plays out like an echo chamber!

What game or series would you love to see come to the Switch?

I’d die to see Persona make some kind of debut on the platform. Other than that, everything else has been confirmed or will likely be later.

What Switch titles are you currently anticipating the most?

Definitely Three Houses, SMT V, and Dragon Quest XI. Closer to the present, I’d say Octopath, but I’m not picking it up till a tad later.

What is your favorite thing about the Nintendo Switch?

The portability is absolutely phenomenal. I love having it with me everywhere on campus. It’s so nice! The anywhere co-op is a huge plus also.

What is your fondest Nintendo memory?

Back with the Gamecube, one of my old friends and I would spend countless hours playing Digimon World 4. Coming up with different characters, using different weapons, and constantly running through the worlds. I’ll always love that game for the joy it gave.

Anything you would like to add?

Just that I adore this community and I can’t wait to see it grow in the coming months and years. If someone is seeing this and they’re not a part of the community, I highly recommend joining up. There’s good folks here.
