12 Upcoming Switch RPGs – June 2021

Summer is finally coming and with it, the first round of major releases for the season. With a strong lineup of games releasing this month, there’s bound to be something for all RPG fans to chew on.


Winds of Change

While searching for her, you find that a plague has descended on the residents of a nearby town. Dubbed as the “source,” you must elude the grasp of the Pope while searching for your daughter in this action platformer with RPG elements.

The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom

For fans of zombies, a new semi-open world action RPG is joining the fray of titles on the Switch. You must stop the evil Malondre from getting the Staff of Doom and to do so, you must explore through post-apocalyptic Wakefield and get stronger. Couch co-op with up to three players and take down the zombies that have ravaged the town.

No matter the skill level of players, Mario Golf promises to be a fulfilling experience for everyone.


Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny

The wacky tactics franchise finally makes its return with a new game on Western systems. Play as the zombie Zed as he seeks to destroy the God of Destruction. With a boatload of quality of life features, a switch from 2D to 3D graphics, and a brand new feature known as Super Reincarnation, experience Disgaea in its craziest form yet. Get ready to grind up to level 99,999,999.

Very late, but from this list, I bought Mario Golf: Super Rush and Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny. Both have been really solid games. Legend of Mana is definitely something I have my eye on still, because I LOVED the Trials of Mana remake, but I’m not sure if I’d like Legend of Mana as much, because I’ve heard they’re very different.
